Plays!

In the last month or two, Adam and I have had the pleasure to attend these:

I must admit that I love going to plays. 'Wait Until Dark' and 'Steel Magnolias' were both presented by the SEACT in Dothan. The cast did a wonderful job with both.
We saw the last play 'Beauty and the Beast' in Ringgold, Ga. Adam's Uncle and cousins were in the musical. They all did outstanding jobs with their parts and I was quite impressed!

Beautiful Cotton Fields...

One late afternoon as we were headed out to Adam's house to go to the National Peanut Festival, I couldn't help but notice all the bright white cotton fields. So as we pull into the driveway, I convinced Taylor to take a couple of pictures for me.

As you can see, my child was being his normal, goofy self! I wouldn't have him any other way~

Thanksgiving at the Beach

This year for Thanksgiving holidays we decided to spend it at the beach with Adam's family. We stayed in a very nice condo that Adam's partner owns in SeaGrove. The temperature was actually warm enough for us to lounge on the beach and the kids (with some grown ups) got in the water. If you have never been to the area off of 30A, you should! It is like a little community of its own. Most people ride their bikes everywhere and you can see families playing a friendly game of football or bocce in the parks.

These are a couple photos from the beach...

My handsome little guy!
Kids will be kids...

One evening before sunset we took a little walk on the beach and captured some awesome photos...

My Tay with his fireball!

Overall, our holiday was a good one. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and time away from the every day hectic schedule. At the end of the day, we were treated to a massage from the "Spa by Abigail, Elizabeth and Mr. Brown"!

Happy Holidays!

Update on my Taylor

Taylor has lost two more teeth.....all in the SAME day! The tooth-fairy had to pay up!

The two on the bottom...

Also, I am proud to say that Taylor is doing very well in school! He made A/B Honor Roll on his last report card. One thing that he has dreaded since 2nd grade was multiplication. Well the way his teacher has implemented it was by testing them each week on a 'lap'. Each lap has various multiplication problems on it. He and I work on these every night of the week so that he can make his lap each Friday.
Taylor is 1 of 6 kids in his class of 23 that is on the correct lap! Talk about a proud Mom....I was smiling from ear to ear!

Woo hoo! Way to go my little man!

The Jones'

On 11/11/11, my best friend Misty and her partner Shane tied the knot! We were so blessed to be able to attend their beautiful wedding and awesome reception.
Since they both live in Gulf Shores, they had their wedding and reception by the water. As to be expected, she had everything planned out so perfectly.
Here are a couple of pictures that I can share with you...

The Beautiful Couple
Susie Q had to dress up too!
At the Reception
Misty, Kathy and I
The Newlyweds Dancing
Adam dancing with the Bride...socks out of course! (If you know anything about my 30th birthday...this would make you laugh)
Amy using her skillz and singing with....The Park Band!

It is too bad that I don't have the video, but Adam gave a speech at their wedding that made the Grandmothers' blush and the men give him high fives. By the time it was over, I was nearly in a sweat and Misty was on the floor laughing hysterically. Maybe I can get the clip for your enjoyment at a later time.
I would have to say that this was one the most fun weddings that I have attended in a long time. We danced our hearts out and enjoyed wonderful company!

Congratulations Misty and Shane!

My Special Forces Agent

We did our traditional carving of the pumpkins for Halloween. Adam and Taylor decided to carve Dracula....

Carving and digging...

Taylor had this great idea to carve a baby pumpkin....he found out the hard way that it doesn't work!

All done!
Mom always lectures me about not decorating for Halloween, so I put up these tacky lights. Taylor liked them!

Trick or Treating

We teamed up with my friend Amy and her kids to go trick or treating. I have to admit that trick or treating is not one of my favorite things to do, but when you have kids, you have to make sacrifices!
It does make it alot easier though to have the kids all together!

Scared?

And last but not least, at the end of the night.....poor Sage wanted just one piece!

~Creativity~

First of all, I have to thank my dear friend Kelli Strowd for bringing out the creative touch in me! One Sunday after one of our Auburn game weekends, she and I decided to have a day of being crafty and make a couple of projects. She is so good at everything she does!

My first project.
I made this door hanger out of burlap, painted it and stuffed it with some 'stuffing'. She of course had to sew around the edges for me because as we all know, I can't even sew a button on a shirt!

In the meantime, I have been itching to start painting on canvas. She helped me start this project, and then I finished the artwork at home the next week:

Since then, I have painted more and can't stop! I do want to attend some type of art class at some point to get all the extra advice.

I painted this for one of my best friends that recently got married....post to come soon.

How can you have Christmas without reindeer? I love the Auburn touch I put on these.
This is the latest painting that I completed.

Taylor had to complete a project for Social Studies at school of a land form. The first thought that came to mind was....a volcano! Since we just went to Costa Rica in June, it was definitely our decision. Adam was a huge help with making it and Taylor was so proud of his little volcano. Adam went to Taylor's school when he had to present it and helped with the erupting. All the kids thought it was super cool to see the red lava coming out the top! (We experimented at home with the erupting and learned the hard way that it doesn't take much ingredients!!)

I'm sure that we will have many more projects to do for school and I'm definitely going to continue my creative side...so stay tuned for more to come!

Auburn~ and Auction Kings!

Of course in natural fashion I'm catching up on what has been going on in the last month!
The last Auburn game that we attended was the Ole Miss game. We met at our usual tailgate area with our faithful friends. It was unusually cold that day so we were all bundled up for a windy day on the plains.
Adam with his bright orange pants!

My sweet Kelli...love her!
The whole crew before the game...
We were able to sit with The Strowds' during the game, which was awesome. It is vary rare that we can all enjoy the game together. Kelli and I normally team up together and leave the boys to their usual rent and raving over the game.

During the game...a serious moment.
The eagles at the game.

The colder it got...the more we bundled up!

After the game, Adam and I had already planned to drive to Atlanta to stay the evening. We made plans to go to Gallery 63 the next day for an auction.
If you are not familiar with Gallery 63, it is the location that the television show "Auction Kings" is filmed. You can catch an episode on the Discovery Channel if you are curious to see what we witnessed.
Adam and I love to go to auctions and see what type of antiques we can come up with and this one in particular was just what we expected. Needless to say, we spent the entire day there and could not fit one more item in my Tahoe! We were completely packed down with antiques and such.

Adam with some of the guys from the show.

It was a fun weekend indeed, and the best part was getting home and showing Taylor all the goods that we brought home!
